This week didn’t go as planned. Between running the kids around, managing the house solo, and trying to keep up with everything else, I kept thinking, I’ll get to it later. But later kept slipping further away.
And isn’t that how life goes sometimes? We set intentions, make plans, and then life shows up with its own agenda. I used to feel a lot of guilt about that—about not meeting my own expectations. But the one thing I’ve learned over the last few years is that grace lives in the gaps. The gaps between what I hoped to do and what actually got done. The gaps between showing up perfectly and just showing up.
So here I am, showing up late because, at the end of the day, grace doesn’t have a deadline.
What Brought Me Joy ✨
Trying new restaurants while hubby was off. Since we are new to the area, every now and then, my husband and I will try a few new restaurants while he’s off. This past week, we discovered a wing spot and a wrap place that we will be adding to our restaurant repertoire. (I meant to take a few pictures, but that goes to show how hungry and present I was lol).
70+ degree weather. I think I have officially become a southeast coastal georgia girl, becuase I’ve been loving this 70+ degree weather. It was 80 degrees a couple days this week, and I’ve been making sure that we get out and enjoy it. We’ve been spending so many days out of the house that I’m thinking about getting a bento box set so we can have lunch on the go during these sunny days.
First Friday downtown. This past Friday, my mom friends and I met for storytime at the library, which kicked off the Firt Friday events. Historical Downtown Brunswick hosts First Friday every month where they have live music, food trucks, and vendors downtown. Think of it like a mini festival. After storytime, we walked around with the kids and sampled some food and drinks. It was a great time.
Currently Reading 📚
This year, I’ve been reading through books at a slower pace. I’m still making my way through The Common Rule by Justin Whitmel Earley, The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, and My Phony Valentine by Courtney Walsh.
I’m always sharing my thoughts in real-time on Fable and Instagram. For ratings and reviews, check out my Goodreads.
