July 24' Reading Recap
Everything I Read in the Month of July (Podcast Style!)
Hi, friends! I am excited to share my first-ever monthly reading recap on Substack. If you’ve been following along, you know I share my weekly reads in the (Joy)Cap posts. I was actually thinking about starting a book club here on Substack. I sent out a poll a few months back, but it didn’t garner enough interest. I also had the thought about doing a recap on Instagram Live at the end of the month after my kids go down for the night, but that would be banking on them actually going to sleep right away, which they do not (which you will hear while listening to this recap 🙃). Sooo, I figured this would be my next best bet. Every month, I will be sharing, podcast style, the books I’ve read for the month with a short synopsis and my take on the books (spoiler-free!). Think about it as our monthly book club. :) I actually read 17 books this month (in the audio I said 15, accidentally leaving out two of the books I DNF’d). With that being said, the audio is longer than usual, so grab your beverage of choice, and let’s chat about the books we read this month.
I’m always sharing my thoughts in real-time on Fable and Instagram. For ratings and reviews, check out my Goodreads.
If a certain book grabbed your attention, I created an Amazon storefront that links all of this month’s reads for you to shop at your convenience. Click the button below to browse this month’s reads.1

So I done fooled around and finished Sweet Magnolias Stealing Home this evening. 😂 I will include my thoughts in the next recap!
I absolutely love listening to you talk about books. I typically watch booktube reviews while cooking so this was great to compliment my evening routine. And cozy mystery, now I have a name for it. I finished As The Wicked Watch and it was not my type of mystery, good mystery but gruesome details, so I’m on the fence about the sequel.
I’m definitely going to read Book Lovers, Love & Other Words, Summer on the Bluffs, and the Spirituality book.
