Happy Saturday friends,
This was officially week two of potty training, so it’s been a bit of a repeat of the previous one. Not too much going on around these parts, so I’m going to keep this short.
In case you missed it, this week I shared a post on coping when life feels too full. Between conversations with friends and on this platform, I feel like many of us are in the same boat — doing our best to navigate and balance this full and sometimes overwhelming season. If you’re there, I shared some affirmations, journaling prompts, and coping strategies to support you during this season.
Coping When Life Feels to Full
“That’s because my days are full. I am full. My head is full of to-dos. My mind is full of ideas. My heart is full of love and desire to pour my best into the people, the projects — the work the Lord has set before me. Yet, the days leave me empty, draining, and daring me to keep up with the daily demands. And I question if I still want to.”
I love doing these (Joy)Caps because in both the busy and mundane, they cause me to slow down, notice the good, and find joy in the smallest and most unlikely things.

What Brought Me Joy ✨
Hearing the kids pray. Few things warm my mama's heart more than hearing the kids pray and sing worship songs. These are things that I pray will continue to take root in their hearts.
Enjoying a serendipitous lunch with my husband. My husband is a truck driver, so he’s usually on the road or sleeping during the day, resting after finishing up a route. He returned early on Wednesday with lunch for us to share after we put the kids down for a nap. His presence, especially when unexpected, is always a treat to me.
My two library finds. Later after lunch, I ran to the library to return a few of our checkouts that were coming due, but I popped inside for a quick look and found two books that had been on my TBR. Usually, I dig around to find something good, but these two were in plain view.
4. My solo date. Yesterday, I decided to treat myself to a solo date before I picked up our groceries and weekly household orders. It’s so crazy that I used to struggle with rest. Now, I fully take advantage of these moments whenever I can.
Currently Reading 📚
I ended up finishing four books this week:
Do Less by Kate Northup
Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez (which has so far been one of my favorites of the year)
Women of the Word by Jen Wilkin
Spring Fever by Mary Kay Andrews — I picked this up on a whim from the library this past Saturday after seeing someone add it to their TBR on Goodreads. I am a mood and seasonal reader, so I’m here for the spring reads.
I also started The Ministry of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson and Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes a few days ago.

Currently Listening 🎧
I haven’t listened to the Alli Worthington show in quite some time, so I decided to listen to her latest episode with Jess Connolly, where Jess shares about her latest book Tired of Being Tired. If you’re tired and burned out on busy, this episode invites you to reconsider your beliefs on work, sabbath, and rest. Alli also shares some guided coaching questions at the end geared towards helping you cultivate greater self-awareness.
I found myself nodding and amen(ing) several times throughout this episode. Learning how to embrace my season, find contentment and rest, and trust in God’s timing and provision have been consistent themes for me during this season.
Fave Substack Read of the Week 💻 💕
“It is hard to love up close, to live out the nitty-gritty friendship and mentorship we are called to. It’s a lot more fun to serve a spicy, divisive take on a communion platter and watch the fire emojis come in hot. It’s much less fun to engage in humble and honest discourse, the sort that leaves you changed and impacted. It is hard to create online discourse that honours the nuance of theology and psychology and what it means to be human.”
I really enjoyed this essay by
on Christianfluencing. This topic continues to be a conversation in my circle and contributes to one of the reasons why I feel disconnected from social media sometimes. Few things posted nowadays are credible or feel authentic.I would love to hear from you! What brought you joy this week? Share with us in the group chat, leave a comment, or send me a direct message!
