Happy Saturday, friends!
It feels so good to be back in your inboxes this week! Last weekend, my best friend whisked me away to Greenville, SC for a quick daycation, so there was no (Joy)Cap last week. And to be honest, I needed the break.
When my best friend originally called me, “What are you doing the 25th?” I immediately, hesitated, “I don’t know, why?” These days, most plans that have a date attached to them give me mild anxiety. Figuring out childcare, associated expenses, and the energy required to plan and prepare generally leaves me stressed out and exhausted.
However, after talking it over with my husband, we both decided that it was something that I needed to do for me, and I’m glad I did. We visited M. Judson Booksellers, grabbed lunch, and then I spent the evening tucked into the hotel bed drinking wine, eating cookies, and digging into Emily Henry’s Funny Story. It wasn’t much, but the simplicity and the serenity were what I needed.
What Brought Me Joy ✨
Book shopping in Greenville. While there, I picked up Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan for my sister and I’s next buddy read. We’re about eight chapters in, and I am already hooked.
The kids and I’s library outing. While at the library this week, the kids and I ran into this sweet older woman and her grandkids who reminded me a lot of my mom. Our chat was brief, but I appreciated the encouragement and resources she shared with me to use with the kids.
People’s generosity and support. I’ve shared a few times here that I’ve been exploring what work and business look like at home with three under four. A friend recently connected me with some wonderful ladies, on LinkedIn, who have offered me guidance, support, connections, and resources. I’m always amazed and blessed by other people’s generosity and willingness to extend a helping hand.
Currently Reading 📚
This week I finished Lease on Love by Fallon Ballard, What We Found in Hallelujah by Vanessa Miller, and Nothing is Missing by Nicole Walters.
I have about two chapters left in Now and Not Yet, and I started Funny Story by Emily Henry and Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan.
Keep in mind sharing doesn’t always equal recommending. I’m always sharing my thoughts in real-time on Fable and Instagram. For ratings and reviews, check out my Goodreads.

I’m in summer mode, and the one thing I’m looking forward to this year is summer reading. While I don’t have any beach or vacation plans, I’m looking forward to a season of bright, easy-breezy reading. I’ve been picking up some recommendations from these podcasts.
I would love to hear from you! What brought you joy this week? Leave a comment or send me a direct message!
