This week was another whirlwind, as Hurricane Milton blew my husband back into town and I prepared for my and my son’s fourth birthday. As if there wasn’t enough going on, seasonal sickness snuck its way in to keep us on our toes. My birthday was on Friday, and by night's end, I was struggling to blow up balloons with a stuffy nose for my son’s birthday the following day. By the grace of God, I fought through it, to make sure that my son at least experienced all the wonder and whimsy of his fourth birthday. But Mama is beat and behind, so instead of a reflection, enjoy these episodes from 30 Over 30, a limited podcast series I released last year around my 30th birthday. I’ve made them available for free for a limited time.
What Brought Me Joy ✨
Hubby coming home. Due to the hurricane, my husband had a few days off, so we were excited to have him home for a day. Prayerfully the next time he comes back we will be packing up the house and going with him.
70-degree fall weather. It appears that fall is finally starting to make its way down south. On Thursday, we finally had our first day of 70 degree weather, and it looks like it will stay that way for the next few weeks. I’m praying that there will be no more fake fall.
Grabbing my free birthday drink. With my husband gone for work, I was limited as to what I could do on my birthday, but the one thing that I was going to make sure of was that I was going to grab my free birthday Starbucks drink. It always tastes better on your birthday when it’s free 💁🏾♀️🎂☕️
Currently Reading 📚
This week I finished Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross, The Cinnamon Bun Book Store by Laurie Gilmore, and The Mission of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson.
I’m slowly working my way through Sacred Work by Peggy Bodde, Walking with Jesus Devotions for Autumn & Thanksgiving 2024, and Grumpy Mom Takes a Holiday by Valerie Woerner.
I had to start Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross after the cliffhanger I was left on after reading Divine Rivals.
I grew up watching Barefoot Contessa on the Food Network, so I had to place a hold on Ina Garten’s new memoir when it was released. I’m about 7% in and I’m really enjoying it so far!
A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston has been on my TBR for a few months now. I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I’m excited to buddy read this with my sister.
I’m always sharing my thoughts in real time on Fable and Instagram. For ratings and reviews, check out my Goodreads.

I've been loving this fall weather in the south too. I just sit outside all day and read while the kids play. 😊
