Lately, I’ve been going back and forth on whether I want to continue to share these (Joy)Caps. Life has been so busy and full and just to be honest a lot lately. The more I speak to and connect with moms of young kids, the more I am comforted knowing that I’m not alone — the little years are a lot, and as they grow and change, so does my capacity. These days I have found that I’m shorter on writing time, but I still desire to connect and share with this community here. These (Joy)Caps hold the space for me to do that when I am short on time and, in the process, remind me that joy, even when it feels fleeting, is always at my fingertips.
What Brought Me Joy ✨
Taking my three-year-old to his first dentist appointment. Tuesday was my three-year-old’s first dentist appointment. Walking in, I was a little nervous. Although I’ve always had positive experiences with the dentist, I know that everyone has their own feelings regarding someone digging around in their mouth. I was thankful that he did incredibly well. I captured a few photos and shed a few tears. Milestone moments like this always remind me how fast time is truly going.
Signing the kids up for their first summer reading program. As a kid who grew up enjoying reading, I always looked forward to the summer reading program — mainly the pizza and prizes for what I already loved to do. I was every bit nostalgic as I signed the kids up for their first reading program. I am looking forward to this being a yearly tradition.
My solo coffee shop outing. In this season, childcare is a luxury. That is why I was extremely grateful when my aunt swung by to watch the kids for me on Friday morning while I took a few hours to myself. I went to my local coffee shop and journaled, read, and soaked up a few hours of much-needed quiet.
Scoring some summer pieces. Later that afternoon, I went back out to scour the stores for a few summer pieces. I’m going on two and half years postpartum and I have yet to rebuild my wardrobe. Old Navy was having a sale and I scored a few t-shirts and bottoms — easy-breezy things that I can wear at home or run to the library and the park — my main spots as a stay-at-home mom. A few bookish people I follow on Instagram have shared this cute graphic tee, and I was happy to find it in my size.
Currently Reading 📚
After reading several heavy-hitting romances back to back, I needed a palette cleanser. I remember adding Saturday Night at the Lakeside Supper Club by J. Ryan Stradal to my TBR after hearing it reviewed on one of my favorite bookish podcasts, From the Front Porch. The cover screams summer, so when I saw it was available to borrow on Libby, I decided to give it a go.
I also heard great things about Seven Days in June by Tia Williams. One of my best friends and I are buddy-reading it together, and again, I cannot recommend buddy-reading on Fable enough!
Yesterday I shared an Instagram reel of my most recent summer book haul. I look forward to starting a few of these in the next few weeks.
I’m always sharing my thoughts in real time on Fable and Instagram. For ratings and reviews, check out my Goodreads.

I love the joy recap because it allows me a chance to focus on all the good that happened this week instead of the chaos of life.
A solo coffee date is one of my favs! I love seeking out a new coffee shop. One day I found a new coffee shop that also had house made kombucha (heaven)! And then I discovered a huge used book store across the street. Double awesomeness!
